2021

New Year 2021 ……
.
.
When we can dance in a packed dance floor and have a drink in a crowded bar.

When a sneeze and cough are just a common cold and we just need Vit-C and not a vaccine.

When we can hug, cheek-kisses and touch without fear.

When we do not have to be apprehensive when meeting new people.

What else ? What else ?

Hopefully 2020 – has thought us to not take things for granted, be more compassionate and refocus on our priorities in life.

The kid inside you …

We must never loose that “little boy” inside of us. As we progress through life, we sometimes build a wall, a facade ; to protect ourselves, to represent our position, to demonstrate our capabilities or even to hide insecurities.

Perhaps in  search for happiness , fullfillment ?

But happiness was when we ran barefooted in the soccer field, climbed tress and skinny dipping in a river. I believe most of us missed those days ; and should incorporate moments of our past in to our present  lives.

We do not need to climb trees today but we can still have a bottle of wine and enjoy loud unrestricted laughter with our good old friends of yesteryears.

She is Kamala …

She is Kamala …..

The news repeating again and again that “Kamala is the FIRST WOMAN OF COLOR”  to fill the VP chair  and that  “this is a victory for black women” is really sad.

She is Kamala Harris.
Praise her, focus on her credentials and qualities.

Why is there a need to emphasize  so much of her “color”? Isn’t this “encouraging” racial polarization in modern America ?

Just treat her as a well deserving “human being” elected by the people …..regardless of race, gender, religion and color.

New-ME

As we forge ahead into the new normal era, we will need to redefine our niche and strengths again.

We will need to adapt, change and re-change many times to achieve a balance on what our new routines should be like.

Our past strengths could be our new weaknesses today. Be prepared to leave some of our “old me” behind.
Create a NEW-ME …..a one that is stronger and compassionate as well as living a life of mutual respect and empathy.

2018 – Thank You

You taught me well
You took care of me
You guided me
You showed me REALITY

You blessed my family and I
With laughter, happiness, togetherness
To love and to be loved

You made me great friends
Showed me who they truly are
Their kindness and their compassion
You showed me “pretenders” too

For my shortcomings, I will improve
Should I have hurt someone – Sorry !!

Most importantly, 2018
You woke me up
Made me realize
What is important
What it means to be ME
To do what has to be done
To be a kind human being
And not live behind a mask
