In todays world, a leader can just provide a stage. How the stage is used really depends on his subordinate.
If it is used well, the stage will be a sell out attracting huge audiences and this subordinate will hence be the leading star who will then be destined to create other stages and stars.
This is how most companies grow today. Gone are the days a leader stays on stage to become a star over and over again.
New ideas, new talent, creativity, a breath of fresh air are all needed for companies to keep changing in order to grow, excel and be different.
